As a Senior Platform Developer, you will herald a transformative era in software engineering, one that underscores the integration of development and operations through a single, comprehensive platform. The role's core responsibility revolves around empowering development teams with a robust platform that streamlines processes, enhances collaboration, and accelerates release cycles, thereby driving efficiency and innovation.
You will be on an agile team that is responsible for development and operational environments consisting of a mix of servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom hardware. These environments provide the enterprise hybrid-cloud backbone for product development and testing for a large program producing a critical, strategic national asset. This will include a mixture of hands-on keyboard engineering work as well as documentation and baseline control.
NOTE: This position will be onsite in Aurora CO.
What You Will Do:
- Write Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in support of transitioning a system that is tightly coupled to the underlying infrastructure to a modern platform infrastructure.
- Optimize implementation for performance and scalability across on-premise VMware computing environments.
- Leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to improve scalability, consistency, infrastructure efficiency, reduce deployment time, and automate configuration management.
- Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to design and implement development and mission solutions.
- Integrate security and compliance into the platform with services such as encryption and access management.
- Provide operational support for the platform.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- A U.S. government TS/SCI / CI Poly issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and 5+ years of related work experience.
- Experience designing, implementing, and integrating platform infrastructure services using infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Experience with containerization using technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker
- Administrative fluency with the following (or vendor equivalent): Linux and VMWare solutions.
- Experience with programming/scripting languages (E.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go).
- Experience with troubleshooting applications & infrastructure services on Linux based Operating Systems.
- Current CompTIA Security + or ability to obtain within 90 days.
